An experimental study is presented for investigating the effect of vegetation element geometry on velocity distribution within and above canopy. Three types artificial submerged elements with common parts different foliage are used, two density patterns each. Detailed profiles obtained compared at nine locations in array. The canopy found to closely follow a logarithmic law its parameters, namely shear u*, zero-plane displacement height d roughness z0 determined.
